More than 140 producers will benefit from the Pesquera del Pacífico plant 2024-04-02 01:25:58

This day, representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture (MAG) participated in the inauguration of the Pesquera del Pacífico processing plant, in Acajutla, Sonsonate, with which they hope to benefit more than 140 aquaculture producers, artisanal fishermen and shrimp farmers in the area.

“We want to generate development in Salvadoran families. Our Government supports and promotes the production of all agricultural sectors to guarantee the country’s food security. We know that fishing and aquaculture play a fundamental role in providing livelihoods, especially in rural areas,” explained MAG Minister Óscar Guardado.

The new plant is part of the Economic Competitiveness project, which aims to improve production processes, take advantage of fishing resources more efficiently, boost local sales, guarantee continuous demand and open new markets for export.

It should be noted that with the operation of the Pacific Fisheries, the Government will be generating more than 600 jobs, favoring the economy of hundreds of Salvadoran families.
