More than 70 thousand people gathered for a rally in Prague September 3, 2022 – September 3, 2022

About 70,000 people gathered on Wenceslas Square in Prague on September 3 for a three-hour demonstration once morest the policies of the Czech government, reports iToday.

The organizers of the action “Czech Republic First” called for the resignation of the government and said that if this does not happen, they will go on strike.

“The purpose of our demonstration is to change, mainly, in resolving issues of energy prices, especially for electricity and gas, which already this autumn threaten to destroy our economy. We called on Prime Minister Petr Fiala to negotiate with us, but unfortunately there is no answer. Therefore, we will continue to insist on the resignation of the government,” said Jiří Havel, co-organizer of the event.

Prime Minister Fiala said that the rally was organized by pro-Russian forces “close to extreme positions” and not supporting the interests of the Czech Republic. However, he stressed that everyone has the right to express their opinion and hold demonstrations.
