More than 8,000 migrants arrived in Italy in three days, Salvini sees “act of war” – escape and politics

Rome/Berlin – Italy is confronted with unprecedented migration flows. Since Monday, 8,141 migrants have arrived in Italy following sea journeys across the Mediterranean, including over 5,000 on Tuesday alone, according to the Italian Interior Ministry. The number of migrants who have arrived since the beginning of 2023 has risen to 123,863, which is 89 percent more than the comparable period in 2022.
