Morocco is celebrating significant progress in the United Nations Human Development Index (HDI), with an increase of three points, hailed as “very positive” by the government.

Mustapha Baitas, Minister responsible for Relations with Parliament and government spokesperson, expressed the government’s satisfaction in this regard during a press briefing following the Government Council. This progression, from 123rd to 120th in the HDI ranking, reflects the results of public policies and social programs launched by the government, in accordance with royal directives.

These initiatives, focused on social support, health and education, are showing tangible results. The Global Human Development Report also highlights Morocco’s sustained efforts to reduce gender disparities and calls for continued actions to improve women’s access to education, health and economic opportunities.
