Pilsen and České Budějovice have finalized a meaningful player exchange, reshaping their rosters ahead of crucial league battles. The deal,announced Saturday,involves a direct swap of forwards,aiming to bolster offensive capabilities for both teams. This highlights a growing trend in professional hockey of targeted roster adjustments mid-season.
Pilsen Acquires Adam Kubík
Pilsen General Manager Martin Straka confirmed the acquisition of Adam Kubík, a seasoned forward with a proven track record. Straka emphasized Kubík’s goal-scoring instincts and anticipated a swift integration into the team’s system. “Adam has already proven in the past that he is a quality hockey player with a goal instinct,” Straka stated.
Kubík, 27, joins Pilsen after three seasons with České Budějovice, where he recorded seven goals and ten assists in 38 games this season. Throughout 273 extra league matches,he has amassed 78 goals and 81 assists,also having played for Kladno and Hradec Králové. He also earned ten appearances for the national team, most recently in April of last year.
České Budějovice Welcomes Adrián Holešinský
Meanwhile, České budějovice Manager Jiří Novotný welcomed Adrián Holešinský, praising his skating ability and puck control. Novotný anticipates Holešinský will inject energy and physicality into their attacking lines. “Adrián is a slightly different type of player who could fit into our system, he skates great and is very strong on the puck,” Novotný explained.
Holešinský, 29, arrived from Plzeň, where he played since november 2022 from Nitra, registering 29 goals and 63 assists across 162 games.This season, he recorded 16 points (4 goals, 12 assists). Interestingly, Holešinský is married to czech representative Tereza Vanišová and won a bronze medal at the 2022 Beijing Olympics, but was not selected for the Slovakian Olympic team heading to Milan.
