A motorist mowed down two pedestrians on Friday followingnoon in Ghent, seriously injuring one of them. The driver, in his thirties, was driving under the influence of alcohol, the East Flanders prosecutor’s office said on Saturday.
The accident happened around 4:30 p.m. in Ham Street. The injured was taken to hospital. Heard following the fact, the motorist had to pass a breathalyzer test which was positive. His driver’s license was withdrawn and the man was able to leave following his hearing.
