Imagine AI autonomously analyzing booking data to optimize pricing, or generating daily briefings on property performance without any manual intervention. This isn’t science fiction; it’s happening now.

The impact extends beyond simple task automation. Hotels are beginning to assign AI agents broader organizational roles, enabling them to take contextual actions across multiple systems. These companies recognize that MCP is becoming the standard for connecting LLMs to external data, creating a more accessible and powerful AI landscape.

However, the path to MCP adoption isn’t without its challenges. Joseph Ours, partner and AI solutions director at Centric Consulting, cautions that the quality of MCP servers can vary significantly. “While the protocol is solid, many MCP servers are ‘vibe coded’ and have varying degrees of quality,” he explains. Performance can range from seconds to hours depending on the underlying architecture. This highlights a crucial point: implementation matters. CIOs need to carefully evaluate the quality and reliability of MCP servers before integrating them into their systems.

Despite these challenges, the trajectory of MCP is clear. As user expectations for seamless AI integration grow, the demand for a standardized protocol like MCP will only increase.
