An accident involving several vehicles occurred Saturday morning, around 6:30 a.m., on the A7 motorway towards Brussels, between the service station and the Saint-Ghislain exit, said the Mons prosecutor’s office. The accident injured several people.
An Audi A3 brand car registered in France traveling at very high speed approached a Mercedes which was traveling at 120-130 km/h. The two cars pulled into the third lane of traffic, where they collided before hitting a third vehicle. Debris from the crash damaged a fourth car.
The prosecution said that six people were on board the Audi A3, whose driver no longer had his license and was under the influence. The individual fractured his ankle in the accident. Two passengers seated in the back of the car were injured, one of them being hit in the spine and pelvis. The people in the other three cars involved were slightly injured.
The case has been put on trial.
