Bhubaneswar: Mumbai City FC reached the semi-finals of the Kalinga Super Cup. In the last match of Group C, Mumbai beat Chennaiyin FC by a one-sided goal and booked their ticket to the semi-finals. Mumbai reached the semi-finals as group champions following winning all three matches. Chennaiyin finished second following winning two matches.

The deciding goal came in the first half of a thrilling match. In the 24th minute, young player Hmingtanmavia Ralte scored for Mumbai. Mumbai’s winning goal came from a cross given by Dutch star Yovel van Nief.

With this, Mumbai City managed to secure a semi berth along with Jamshedpur FC and East Bengal FC. Group D winners will face Mumbai City in the semis.
