Nagesh Trophy National Cricket Tournament: Odisha Dominates Group-C to Enter Super Eight

Kochi: Odisha won all the matches in Group-C of the Nagesh Trophy National Cricket Tournament for the Visually Impaired and entered the Super Eight. Although they lost to Odisha by nine wickets in the last match on Friday, Uttar Pradesh also made it to the last eight on the back of three wins earlier.

Odisha won the toss and elected to field at Tripunithura Palace Oval. Odisha bowled out Uttar Pradesh for just 64 runs in 18.1 overs with tight bowling and tight fielding, scoring 67 runs for one wicket in 4.5 overs. Man of the match was Debraj Behra who took three wickets for UP giving away only 12 runs in four overs. Lal Prasad Soren and Lingaraj Rautra took a wicket each for Odisha. In reply, Lal Prasad Soren scored 35 runs off 16 balls with six fours to make Odisha’s victory simple.

In the other group match, Bihar beat Jharkhand by 46 runs. Bihar scored 150 runs for eight wickets in 20 overs. Jharkhand all out in 19.2 overs. Angad took two wickets for Bihar for 18 runs in four overs and became the man of the match. Mohammad Ishraf scored 28 runs off 31 balls and Sudhamshukumar scored 20 runs off 10 balls for Bihar. Jharkhand’s top scorer is Chandan Kumar who scored 23 runs off 26 balls. The Nagesh Trophy Super Eight matches will be held in Nagpur next month.
