On behalf of the Federal Electoral Authority, the Federal Ministry of the Interior announces the final numbers of eligible voters for the National Council election on September 29, 2024 in accordance with Section 35 Paragraph 2 of the National Council Electoral Regulations 1992 (NRWO) (the final numbers of eligible voters are included in brackets for comparison purposes). the 2019 National Council election):

Burgenland: 233,738 (233,182) in total, 1,015 (975) of whom live abroad

Carinthia: 432,330 (437,785) in total, 4,590 (4,724) of whom live abroad

Lower Austria: 1,296,084 (1,292,902) in total, 6,911 (6,750) of whom live abroad

Upper Austria: 1,097,771 (1,104,436) in total, 9,299 (9,305) of whom reside abroad

Salzburg: 391,220 (395,640) in total, 5,476 (5,472) of whom live abroad

Styria: 951,115 (965,659) in total, 8,771 (8,913) of whom live abroad

Tyrol: 539,833 (543,044) in total, 6,416 (6,395) of whom live abroad

Vorarlberg: 276,039 (274,500) in total, 4,651 (4,582) of whom live abroad

Vienna: 1,127,929 (1,149,664) in total, 15,577 (14,837) of whom reside abroad

Total: 6,346,059 (6,396,812) in total, 62,706 (61,953) of whom reside abroad

After the deadline enshrined in Section 39 Paragraph 1 of the 1992 National Council Election Code has expired, the Federal Ministry of the Interior will also announce the number of voting cards issued for the 2024 National Council election – according to the municipalities’ notes in the voter register:

As of 12 p.m. today, the municipalities have issued a total of 1,436,240 voting cards. Of these, 62,158 voting cards were issued for Austrians living abroad.
