National Film Award Cruel Humor -Atoor | Adoor Gopalakrishnan about National Film Awards

Kozhikode: Renowned film director Adoor Gopalakrishnan says that the National Film Award has degenerated into a cruel joke. Adoor said that none of the films that we believe are good are on the list. He was speaking at the John Abraham Awards organized by the Kozhikode Federation of Film Societies of India.

It is not even clear what are the criteria for films to be selected for national awards. Once upon a time, eminent filmmakers, critics and artists of the country were selected as the jury. Now the National Award is an anonymous jury. Even the chairman of the jury was never heard before. Thattupolipan movies are the best movies for her. We know why they are juries and why those films are awarded. This is unfair. Efforts are being made to exclude Kerala from all fields.
