Palakkad: The Youth Congress complained that the national flag was insulted during the Thirang Yatra held by Yuva Morcha in Palakkad city yesterday. The complaint came following footage of activists dancing and waving the national flag went viral.
The allegation is that the police are ignoring the violation of law in the program in which BJP state president K. Surendran also participated. Youth Congress workers filed a complaint with the police along with these scenes. As part of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations of Independence, the Yuva Morcha activists started their demonstration from Victoria College premises.
BJP state president K. Surendran and others participated in the march. The Youth Congress alleged that such a disrespectful act took place during the demonstration. Police should take action once morest this. Youth Congress Pride Yatra was also organized along the routes passed by Yuva Morcha’s performance on Sunday. The leaders also stated that legal defense will be raised if the police action is delayed.
