Natural UV radiation in winter has little effect on the coronavirus

The natural UV radiation is not strong enough in winter to be effective against the Sars-CoV-2 coronavirus. This is the conclusion of a study by researchers from the University of Veterinary Medicine, Vienna (Vetmeduni), which has just been published in the journal “Photochemistry and Photobiology”. Accordingly, the viruses can remain infectious outdoors for several hours up to a whole day in winter.
