Navy’s Massive Operation Ensuring Safety of Fleet Infrastructure and Ships in San Diego

This is the first time the Navy has conducted an operation of this magnitude in San Diego.

“To ensure the safety of our sailors and ships, we are taking all necessary steps to mitigate potential damage to Third Fleet infrastructure and vessels,” said Vice Admiral Michael Boyle, Commander Third Fleet. US fleet in a statement.

“Safety remains our top priority and getting all our ships in working order at sea makes it easier for us to manage the situation on land,” he continued.

There are no less than fifty US Navy ships in San Diego, including three aircraft carriers and four nuclear submarines.

The planes are parked in hangars that are designed to withstand stronger winds than those expected during this storm.
