ND Highway Patrol Swears in New Troopers: July – December 2023

VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NDHP) – From July through December 2023, the North Dakota Highway Patrol (NDHP) swore in ten currently licensed peace officers with law enforcement experience as new NDHP Troopers.

These troopers completed a shortened comprehensive law enforcement training program before starting field training and assignment to their designated posts across the state. The new troopers and their post locations are:

• Trooper Damon Burkel, stationed in Bismarck.
• Trooper Trevor Elfman, stationed in Devils Lake.
• Trooper Evan Johnson, stationed in Jamestown.
• Trooper Shane Johnson, stationed in Jamestown.
• Trooper Andrew Klegstad, stationed in Hillsboro.
• Trooper Peter Miley, stationed in Williston.
• Trooper Amanda Mohs, stationed in Fargo.
• Trooper Trenton Stewart, stationed in Fargo.
• Trooper Remington Timothy, stationed in Rugby.
• Trooper Damian Wright, stationed in Wahpeton.
