The State Duma of the Russian Federation has approved bills that are aimed at maintaining child care benefits for working parents, regardless of their employment. The speaker of the lower house of parliament, Vyacheslav Volodin, spoke regarding this.

“Regardless of the parents’ employment, they will continue to receive child care benefits for up to 1.5 years,” conveys the words Volodin official website of the State Duma. He added that these changes were proposed as part of the instructions of Russian President Vladimir Putin and they are aimed at additional support for families with children, especially young mothers.

Currently, many women are forced to return to work before the child is one and a half years old due to lack of funds in the family. Current law provides for the termination of benefits when the mother returns to work. The amendments made will allow maintaining benefit payments. The Chairman of the State Duma noted that the average amount of benefits for child care up to one and a half years in 2024 will be 17.8 thousand rubles.

Working parents are provided with various benefits and payments from the state, which can reach an amount of more than 300 thousand rubles. Families are eligible to receive these payments both before and following the birth of a child. URA.RU told in detail regarding these payments.
