The Innsbruck Festival of Early Music will usher in a new era in its 48th edition next year – the first season following 14 years of direction by Alessandro De Marchi. The new musical director Ottavio Dantone said on Thursday at the program press conference in Innsbruck that there should also be an increasing number of “opera shortenings” in terms of playing time and, in general, “bridges between the past and the present” should be built.
