“New Faculty of Medicine in Jujuy: Collaborative Efforts to Address the Need for Doctors and Specialists”

2023-04-25 03:00:00

The governor of Jujuy, Gerardo Morales, signed a cooperation agreement with universities to create the Faculty of Medicine in that province. “We are needing doctors, specialists. It is a very good decision that we make collectively”, expressed Morales when signing the agreement together with the rector of the National University of Jujuy, Mario Bonillo and the rector of the National University of Tucumán, Sergio Pagani.

The Jujuy Medicine degree will be taught in Libertador General San Martín where the Oscar Orías hospital currently operates, which will be moved to a new and larger building that is being built where it will become a regional hospital.

“It will take time to put it into operation, but there is a commitment to invest and provide the necessary resources,” added Morales. The UNJu will implement undergraduate and postgraduate training programs and health sciences and a commission will be formed with representatives of the different parties that will be in charge of the integral execution of the project.
