Washington/Tehran – The EU and the USA have imposed new sanctions on the first anniversary of the death of Iranian protest icon Jina Mahsa Amini in connection with the brutal suppression of anti-government protests in the country. Four people and six institutions and companies are affected by the EU punitive measures. Specifically, it concerns, among other things, two police commanders, a representative of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard (IRGC), as well as several prisons and the Tasnim news agency.
