New World was one of Amazon’s first big games – and now the MMORPG is getting its first big expansion. This is called “Rise of the Angry Earth”.
Amazon Games has announced Rise of the Angry Earth, the first major add-on to the online role-playing game New World. The expansion should be available from October 3, 2023 and introduces mounts, among other things. In addition, the progression system will be changed, in which the level cap will be raised to 65. The expansion also features a new gear rarity, weapon, altered zone, new endgame expedition, heart rune ability, and more.
In the expansion, the southeastern tip of Aeternum previously known as First Light has fallen. Once welcoming to newcomers to Aeternum, the fields have now been destroyed by the wrath of Artemis and the Angry Earth. No one knows what became of the people and villages that once populated the area. A deadly barrier has kept all but the bravest from finding out more. The forces of earth have awakened the mighty Beast Lords, a possible new enemy to face the denizens of Aeternum. But they also bring a new benefit: the secret of taming and riding animals.
In the future – as mentioned – you can summon a mount for faster travel through Aeternum and use horses, wolves and lions. Each animal has a unique appearance, dyeable gear, and names that you can choose. You also have access to a new weapon – the flail. The flail is a versatile one-handed weapon with the option to wield a shield in the off-hand. Combining melee combat, arcane magic, and strong defenses, users can increase their party’s effectiveness without sacrificing offense.
The add-on will cost 28.99 euros. In addition, the new Elysian Edition was also announced, which includes the main game and add-on at a price of 68.99 euros.
Season 3 will start at the same time as the expansion. This includes a new Season Journey, Activity Map, Challenges, Events, Rewards and more.
