In a week, a new year and a new rise in the price of tobacco for the 12 million French smokers. The packet of Marlboro takes €1 and goes to €12.50 for 20 cigarettes. It’s not just packages that are increasing in price. Rolling tobacco too: the best-selling box in France sees its price jump by €1.20.
