The New York Rangers have made training camp cuts.

No less than six players were placed on waivers, including the Quebecer and former member of the Canadiens, Alex Belzile.

Rangers head coach Peter Laviolette used Belzile for just under 12 minutes Thursday night in his first game in a Blue Shirts uniform. He shot on net three times in a 3-2 loss to the New Jersey Devils.

Originally from Rivière-du-Loup, the 32-year-old forward signed a one-season deal with New York last July.

Belzile played last season between Laval and Montreal. In 31 games with the Canadiens, he collected 14 points, including six goals. With the Rocket, he scored 14 goals and 12 assists in 31 games.

The other players subject to waivers on Friday are:

Keaton Middleton (Avalanche)
Spencer Smallman (Avalanche)
Tyler Wotherspoon (Devils)
Anton Blidh (Rangers)
Turner Elson (Rangers)
Ty Emberson (Rangers)
Connor Mackey (Rangers)
Riley Nash (Rangers)
