New Zealand players rested from ODI against Sri Lanka to play IPL

Four New Zealand players, including Kane Williamson, have been rested from the squad for the ODI series once morest Sri Lanka. The New Zealand Cricket Board has given rest to the players who are part of various IPL teams. The ODI series will start from March 25. It is reported that the IPL will start on March 31.

Captain Kane Williamson, Tim Southee, Devon Conway and Mitchell Santner have been rested. Opener Tom Latham will lead the team.

Williamson, who led Sunrisers Hyderabad last season, is now with defending champions Gujarat Titans. Gujarat picked Williamson in the mini auction. Devon Conway and Mitchell Santner are with Chennai Super Kings and Tim Southee is with Kolkata Knight Riders.

Kolkata’s Lockie Ferguson, RCB’s Finn Allen and Sunrisers’ Glenn Phillips will join the IPL following the series.
