Official data of the Ministry of Health revealed that the number of its affiliated hospitals accredited by the Central Council for Accreditation of Health Institutions; 65 out of 287 hospitals, which means that the number of accredited hospitals is less than 23%.
According to the statistical book of the Ministry of Health for the year 2021, the total number of hospitals in the Kingdom reached 497, 287 of which are affiliated with the Ministry of Health, 51 hospitals affiliated with other government agencies, and 159 hospitals affiliated with the private sector.
The data indicated that the number of hospitals of the Ministry of Health approved by the Council is 65, and the number of hospitals in other accredited government agencies is 38, while the number of hospitals in the private sector approved by the Council is 115.
