News 24 | Health warns of the dangers of lack of sleep .. and clarifies the number of normal hours

The Ministry of Health has warned that not getting enough sleep causes many diseases, both organic and psychological.

She explained that among these diseases, high blood pressure, and the possibility of developing type 2 diabetes, with weight gain, other than mood disorders.

She showed that the normal number of sleep hours for newborns is from 14-17 hours, for infants from 12-16 hours, for children up to two years from 11-14 hours, and from 3-5 years old needs 10-13 hours.

She indicated that from the age of 6-13 the number of hours of sleep is 9-11 hours, and from 14-24 years of age it reaches 8-10 hours, and from 25-64 years the body needs 7-9 hours, and over 65 years the number of hours of sleep reaches to between 7-8 hours.
