Qatar announced, today (Saturday), the start of applying the obligation to cover visitors to the country with the health insurance system next February.
The Qatari Ministry of Health stated that the visitors will be covered by the health insurance policy issued by the companies registered with it, noting that it will cover basic health care services, represented by emergency services and accidents only.
She added that the premium for the mandatory insurance policy for the single visa for a period of 30 days is 50 Qatari riyals upon the initial issuance and each time the visit visa is extended.
She indicated that it is possible to obtain a health insurance policy that covers additional services, but the premiums for these policies vary according to insurance companies.
