News 24 | The Food and Drug Administration shows how to safely dispose of unwanted medicines

The Food and Drug Authority reviewed how to dispose of unwanted medicines in a safe manner.

The authority indicated that some cases of drug poisoning occur as a result of not getting rid of the drugs, so care must be taken to dispose of them in safe and periodic ways.

She explained that the ways to dispose of medicines consist in removing all personal data from the package of medicines of all kinds, writing off the prescription, and placing the medicines in an airtight plastic bag.

She pointed out the need to take out solid medicines such as tablets and capsules from the package without breaking or crushing them, then mix them with semi-solid waste such as tea or coffee residues, and finally throw them in the external trash.
