News 24 | Two specialists comment on the Shura’s demand for education to reconsider the two-track and three-semester systems

Two specialists commented on the Shura Council’s call for the Ministry of Education to evaluate and reconsider the implementation of the track and three-semester systems in schools and universities.

The specialist in education affairs, Imad Al-Sharif, said:News 24What the Shura Council demanded regarding the evaluation of the secondary school track system and the three semesters is considered a feedback on the decisions that are issued, in addition to its evaluation and looking at the positive and negative aspects with its review and development.

He added: “What we hope and request from the Ministry of Education is that there will be the involvement of the direct beneficiaries of these decisions, and by that we mean students, parents, teachers, and school administrators, as they are the closest to the field and benefit from their views and development ideas towards these decisions.”

For his part, the journalist interested in education affairs, Abdul Rahman Al-Shehri, confirmed that teachers are closer to students than others, and they are well aware of the positive impact of this decision on them, in terms of raising the level of interaction and integration of roles between the family and the school.

He pointed out that the three-semester system works to improve the learning outcomes of male and female students to enhance quality in education, and to support and guide their skills with curricula that keep pace with the needs of the labor market, giving them the opportunity to compensate for the failure that may occur in the grades of some subjects in the previous semesters.

Al-Shehri indicated that the new system coincides with achieving the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 towards an ambitious homeland, a vibrant society, and a prosperous economy. So we hope to give this experience enough time to mature and see its outcomes.
