News 24 | Zakat and Customs clarifies how to calculate fees on purchases transferred from Bahrain

The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority responded to an inquiry regarding the extent to which fees are applied to devices transported from Bahrain via the King Fahd Causeway.

The authority stated that if the traveler’s purchases exceed 3,000 riyals, disclosure is required, indicating that the fees that are applied to travelers are for new, that is, unused luggage (wrapped with factory packaging).

She noted that a value-added tax of 15% is imposed on all imports.
