Al-Marsad newspaper: During the past three days, many news spread regarding the deteriorating health of the Iranian leader, Ali Khamenei, who has been suffering from cancer for years.
A statement by a member of the country’s Assembly of Experts, Hashem Hashemzadeh Harisi, sparked more controversy regarding the reality of the Iranian leader’s health condition.
Harisi told the Iranian newspaper, Hamdali, on Sunday, that “the members of the Assembly of Experts did not meet the guide for his convenience and not to waste his time.”
He pointed out that Khamenei did not see the need to meet with members of the Council and give a speech, noting that this meeting is periodic and is held twice a year in September and March.
Harisi’s statements contradicted what was published by the Revolutionary Guards’ Tasnim Agency, which confirmed that what was said regarding a scheduled meeting was just a “rumour”, noting that there was basically no scheduled meeting of Khamenei with members of the Assembly of Experts.
