Two investment agreements, for the creation of a factory worth more than a billion dirhams expected to generate no less than 200 jobs, were signed this Thursday in Rabat between Nexans and the Moroccan State.
This is a new investment that has just been made! This Thursday in Rabat, the French Group Nexans signed two investment agreements with the Moroccan State. Concerning a total amount of €100 million, this investment aims to create a new industrial unit expected to generate more than 200 jobs.

The event brought together a lot of people. On the Nexans side, the CEO of the group, in person, made the trip. It is with this reinforcement that Selma Alami, the Managing Director of Nexans North & West Africa, received the strong ministerial delegation. This included, in particular, the Ministers of Industry and Commerce, Ryad Mezzour, of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, Leila Benali, and that in charge of Investment, Convergence and Policy Evaluation public, Mohcine Jazouli.
Significant economic potential
Expected “by 2026”, the factory will be specifically dedicated to the manufacture of medium-voltage energy cables. As a helping hand from Nexans in favor of the energy transition in Morocco and on the African continent. A fact that Christopher Guerin did not fail to point out. “This project bringing together public and private actors will, from its very start, bring together ecological and human commitments, unlocking significant economic potential for the entire African continent,” he declared. Adding to this, Selma Alami specified that the said project “is at the heart of the key orientations of the road map of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God help him”. In addition, she expressed Nexans’ pride in strengthening its presence in Morocco.
Indeed, in Morocco, Nexans already has two sites located in Casablanca and Mohammedia. As for the next one, whose location has not been revealed, it will benefit from the group’s latest technological innovations. Both in terms of digitalization 4.0 and in terms of sustainable resources. Enough to ensure, from Morocco, the delivery of safe and reliable cables throughout the Continent. To do this, Nexans will be able to count on the support of Moroccan institutions, through the aforementioned ministries, the National Office of Electricity and Drinking Water (ONEE) and the Moroccan Agency for the Development of Investments and Exports. (AMDIE).
