Nguyen Thi Oanh won gold at the 2023 Asian Indoor Athletics Championships

On the evening of February 11, Vietnamese athletes entered the finals at the 2023 Asian Indoor Athletics Championships.

On the women’s 1500m run, Nguyen Thi Oanh excellently won gold with extremely impressive parameters of 4 minutes 15 seconds 56.

The 2023 Asian Indoor Athletics Championships takes place from February 10-12, 2023 in Kazakhstan, a country in Central Asia and is experiencing very cold temperatures of only regarding -13 degrees Celsius, even down to -20 degrees Celsius.

The Vietnamese athletics team participated in the tournament with 4 names including: Nguyen Thi Huyen (Nam Dinh) in the women’s 400m event; Nguyen Thi Oanh (Bac Giang) in 2 events of 1500m and 3000m for women; Nguyen Trung Cuong (Ha Tinh) in the men’s 3000m and Luong Duc Phuoc (Dong Nai) in the 800m and 1500m men’s events. Coach Tran Van Sy was assigned to dance to lead athletes in this tournament.

In the previous Games, Vietnamese athletes also won many remarkable achievements. Specifically, in 2010, Truong Thanh Hang won the 800m gold medal; In 2012, Duong Thi Viet Anh won silver in pentathlon, bronze in high jump; In 2016, Bui Thi Thu Thao won silver in the long jump and Quach Thi Lan won bronze in 400m; In 2018, Bui Thi Thu Thao won the gold medal in the long jump, the bronze medal in the 3-step jump and Nguyen Thi Oanh won the 1500m bronze and 3000m bronze.
