Nick Kyrgios Withdraws from French Open Due to Foot Injury: Latest Update and News

2023-05-22 21:03:35

Australian tennis pro Nick Kyrgios will not serve at the French Open in Paris, which begins in just under two weeks. Last year’s Wimbledon finalist withdrew his start in the Grand Slam tournament on clay on Tuesday, according to media reports.

The 28-year-old has not played a professional match since his knee operation in January, and he had to cancel at short notice for the Australian Open at the beginning of the year in Melbourne because of the problems. However, the knee is probably not the problem, but a foot injury.

His advisor explains that he suffered a foot injury during an attack. Earlier in May, Kyrgios had helped police catch a man who, according to court records, had threatened the tennis player’s mother at gunpoint. What he contracted exactly is unclear. (fss/dpa)
