Vienna/Frankfurt am Main – Austria’s widest-reaching news program – the “ZiB1” – dedicated nine percent of its transmission time to the Global South and thus to around 85 percent of the world’s population last year. As a result, many humanitarian crises remain largely unexamined, states Ladislaus Ludescher, research associate at the Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main, in a study. The ORF emphasizes that the consideration of “ZiB1” alone is too brief.
