He was reportedly ordered to report all deaths as coronavirus-related for cash, even though no test was found to be positive.

The rumor was launched on Facebook on June 11 by a page followed by nearly 50,000 people, after Doctor Mukwege announced his choice to leave the proceeding. The original false message has since been deleted.
