Apple rejects 1,679,694 App Store app applications in 2022
Athit Perawongmetha / Archyde.com Apple earlier released the first-ever App Store Transparency Report, which includes a number of data regarding the App Store. As of the end of 2022, there are as many as 1,783,232 apps in the App Store, and Apple has reviewed as many as 6,101,913 app applications throughout last year (applications can include updates to existing apps, not necessarily new listings), of which 1,679,694 were rejected. The vast majority of these (more than 1 million) were rejected for not meeting Apple’s performance guidelines, and regarding 440,000 were rejected for legal reasons. In the same year, 186,195 apps were removed from the App Store, most of which were voluntary for various reasons, but 1,474 were also requested by the government. Among them, China alone accounted for 1,435 cases, almost 100 times the 14 cases of the second place India. At the same time, Apple also accepted 5,484 appeals for apps removed from the Chinese App Store, of which 169 were successfully appealed and returned to the App Store.iPhone, iPad and Mac users averaged 747,873,877 downloads per week last year
