American Michael Norman won the 400m gold at the 18th World Athletics Championships in Eugene, USA.
Norman, 24, finished the race with a time of 44.29 seconds, and Kerani James from Grenada, who won bronze in the Tokyo Olympics last summer (44.48 seconds), returned the bronze to Britain’s Matthew Hudson-Smith (44.66 seconds).
Norman succeeded in imposing himself strongly in the race in the absence of the injured Bahamian Olympic champion Steve Gadiner, winning his first world title, compensating for his disappointment at the Olympic Games last summer, when he finished fifth before winning the 400m relay gold with his country at the Tokyo Olympics, summer Past.
Kirani won his third world medal, following the gold in the South Korean version of Daegu in 2011, and the bronze in Beijing 2015, the same balance in the Olympic Games, where he was crowned gold in London 2012, silver in Rio de Janeiro 2016, and bronze in Tokyo last summer.
And only South African Wade van Niekerk, the world record holder for the race, and the champion of the Beijing 2015 and London 2017 editions, finished fifth (44.97 seconds).
