North Jutland baking contest winner accused of plagiarism

That’s what Se og Hør writes.

An Australian ceramicist Michelle Morton writes in a story on Instagram that she believes Liv Martine has copied her oyster plate

– What is going on at the moment? Oh, not so much. I have just received hundreds of messages a day regarding a Danish influencer who has copied and is selling my oyster plates, says the ceramist, who continues:

– I still have a few oyster plates for sale to those who don’t buy copies, says the Australian potter with thick irony.

Liv Martine from Northern Jutland won season four of “The Great Baking Contest” in 2015 and has since built a career as an influencer with as many as 159,000 followers on Instagram.

In a written response to Se og Hør, it sounds like there is no deliberate copying of the Australian potter’s oyster plate. It also appears from the written response to Se og Hør that she “should have had her big platform in mind – and in that connection have made sure to credit the original designer”.

Liv Martine has previously been accused of plagiarism by a Danish ceramicist – Mona Vander from Odense. Back then, it was a ceramic pillbox that was the subject of talk about plagiarism. And then the North Jutland baking contest winner denied that she copied someone else’s work:

The entrepreneur told Se og Hør that she found her inspiration on Pinterest, where she saw a wooden pill box that she wanted to recreate in ceramics.
