North Netherlands Orchestra for the second time in a row in the Biddinghuizen clay, this time with music from film classics

For the second year in a row, the North Netherlands Orchestra will be at Lowlands. The organization of the festival announced the performance on Wednesday morning. Last year, thousands of visitors went crazy to Beethoven’s ninth. This year, film music is on the set list.

Under the direction of conductor Eivind Gullberg Jensen, the NNO plays highlights from film classics such as ‘Pulp Fiction’, ‘The Godfather’ and ‘James Bond’. According to Lowlands, the festival and the NNO have a ‘click’, following the orchestra gave a very successful first performance last year. Then the NNO had thousands of people jump to an adapted version of Beethoven’s ninth symphony.

It will be the NNO’s third performance at Lowlands, but there might have been more. In 2020, a performance by the NNO at Lowlands was canceled due to corona. In 2021, the festival was canceled for the same reason. The following year, some choir members were already in the car when the concert was canceled. The NNO was also scheduled to perform on the Alpha stage in 2022, but logistical problems arose during the preparations, resulting in the NNO concert being canceled once more.
