NYC Schools Go Solar: Students Take Charge of a Greener Future

New York City is powering a brighter future – literally. The city is making significant strides in its commitment to sustainability by installing solar panels on 72 school rooftops, marking its largest solar project to date.

This wave of clean energy expands the city’s commitment to a greener future. The project, encompassing the latest phase of a much larger initiative, will ultimately bring the total number of schools with solar arrays to 104. When complete, these solar panels will generate 22.5 megawatts of energy with the potential to considerablyreduce energy costs and cut the city’s carbon footprint.
