Oceanside Group Donates $20K to Local Food Charity | Good Food Oceanside

The 100 Fine Gentlemen of Oceanside donated $20,000 to Decent Food Oceanside on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at their quarterly meeting. The donation will support the organization’s efforts to provide affordable fresh produce to Oceanside residents.

Good Food Oceanside acquires fruits and vegetables directly from local suppliers, assembling them into bags and boxes offered to the community for $15. According to the organization, the same quantity of produce would cost consumers between $25 and $30 at a traditional grocery store.

The 100 Fine Gentlemen of Oceanside, established in December 2019, operates on a model where members commit to donating $100 four times a year, or a lump sum of $400 annually. The group’s members nominate charities for consideration, presenting their chosen organizations to the group during meetings. Members then vote on which charity will receive the collective funds.

The organization has contributed over $350,000 to local charitable groups since its inception. The next meeting is scheduled for June 3, 2026, at the Morningstar Golf Club in Parksville. The club hosted events for the group in June 2026, September 2026, and December 2026, according to their event calendar.

Oceanside has a vibrant food and drink scene, with a variety of restaurants, breweries, and cafes, according to Visit Oceanside. A recent event listing for March 2026 highlighted several food-related activities taking place in the city.
