AHMEDABAD: Hot on the heels of winning the Santosh Trophy, the Kerala football team will head out on Sunday in search of the National Games gold. Odisha will face Odisha in the Group A match starting at 9.30 am at the Tran Stadium in Ahmedabad. Kerala’s opponents are Services on Tuesday and Manipur on Thursday.
Santhosh Trophy Team Vice Captain V. The team led by Mithun has both newcomers and veterans. Apart from the goalkeeper Mithun, the second goalie S. Hajmal, Nijo Gilbert, Vignesh, G. Sanju, Bibin Ajayan, Mohammad Parakotil and others are Santosh Trophy players. The Kerala team arrived in Gujarat on Friday following a 40-day long training camp held at Ernakulam Maharaja’s College ground.
