A Fairfax County officer is under investigation for sending lewd radio broadcasts during the New Year.
The officer was off-duty in his personal car when his police radio detected him listening to “audio pornography” shortly following midnight, according to the Fairfax County Police Department.
Police released a statement regarding the incident: “The off-duty officer had his portable radio in the trunk of the car and forgot to turn it off. The portable radio was inadvertently activated while the officer was driving. Our investigation revealed that the off-duty officer was listening to Bluetooth ‘audio pornography’ in his vehicle, which was captured with his police radio on”.
Authorities confirmed that the audio pornography was the same as the one broadcast over the radio system.
No one else was in the vehicle.
The Internal Affairs Department is reviewing the incident and they have interviewed the officer.
