Official development assistance – France takes fourth place in the world (13.04.23)

On April 12, 2023, the OECD published preliminary data on global official development assistance (ODA) for the year 2022. France is now the world’s 4th donor. With 0.56% of gross national income devoted to ODA, it exceeds the objective set by the President of the Republic since 2017, in a more targeted solidarity investment policy, in particular towards the health sector, adaptation to climate change and education.

In addition, and for the first time, France ranks in 2022 among the top 10 actors in terms of humanitarian aid.

France’s solidarity investment in Africa has increased considerably, in an overall context of reduced commitment from other donors. France thus confirms its desire to build partnerships with African countries and to act in support of the development of a rapidly growing continent.
