Olemps. “At March forced”, or when six characters are in search of an author

Can you put on an adaptation of “Four Daughters of Doctor March” when you only have 3 actors (including a bald giant!) and a middle-aged electrician on hand to play teenagers? Yes, when we have no other choice for the troupe than to put the key under the door. The fault of a negligent director who forgot that he did not have the rights to the programmed play! But, precisely, he himself made an adaptation of the famous novel by Louisa May-Alcott published in the 19th century. The actors will therefore only have to put on wigs, corsets and petticoats, find the right tone of voice and posture to enter the skin of the characters, under the constant pressure of a despotic director who suffers no CONTESTATION. Crises of laughter, confrontations, rebellion of the actors who end up freeing themselves and rehearsing among themselves to deliver, in 3 weeks, a successful work. This gave the director the idea of putting on a play a month; remains to find the authors.

The public laughed a lot throughout the evening, delighted to find the “Theatre for tomorrow and following” which had already come with the same success to present, in 2019, “Jean is seated in the sofa”, by the same author, Christophe Ribeyre, with the same director, Laurent Cornic and actor Quentin Muller who portrays an indescribable “Jo”!

In a diametrically different register, the TPDEA will be at La Baleine on April 12 at 8:30 p.m. to present its new play, “Time does not exist”.
