Oman Introduces New E-Commerce Restrictions: Ministry of Commerce’s Official Order Ensures Sector Growth and Fraud Prevention

Muscat: Oman is regarding to introduce new restrictions in the e-commerce sector. In this regard, the Oman Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion has also issued an official order.

It aims to strengthen the e-commerce sector in the country and prevent fraud by recording the details of the companies operating in this sector and controlling the transactions.

As part of the new regulations, licenses have been made mandatory for companies operating in the e-commerce sector in Oman. The Ministry has also provided facilities to submit the application online.

Also, commercial registration is mandatory for commercial establishments including companies operating in the e-commerce sector, the ministry said.
