The body (not a model) of the Chery Tiggo 8 crossover was driven through the paint conveyor of the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant yesterday. The information of our editorial office was confirmed by the employees of the automobile plant.
As a reminder, at the beginning of February 2022 became knownthat Chery Automobile is negotiating with the owner of UAZ, the Sollers group, to organize the production of its crossovers in Ulyanovsk for the needs of the market of the Russian Federation and other countries of the EAEU. The details of the project are unknown, but now it is clear that the possibility of “Russification” of at least one model, the Tiggo 8, is being considered. It is likely that this car will be produced at UAZ using a full cycle technology, including welding of body panels.
