Local sources reported that successive groups of settlers, numbering approximately 774 settlers, stormed the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque and performed Talmudic rituals there, on the sixth day of the Jewish “Sukkot Festival.”

Hundreds of settlers also performed Talmudic prayers in front of Bab al-Qattanin, one of the doors of Al-Aqsa Mosque, carrying “plant offerings.”

Israeli forces strengthened their presence in the Old City, Al-Aqsa Mosque and its surroundings, since the dawn hours, to secure settlers’ incursions.

Dozens of Israeli police officers were deployed at the gates and roads of Al-Aqsa and at the gates of the Old City, while obstructing the arrival of worshipers.

The Israeli forces also closed the roads in the Lions’ Gate area, and vehicles and buses carrying settlers were allowed to pass towards the Mughrabi Gate to Al-Buraq Square.

Social media users circulated dozens of pictures of settlers performing their Talmudic rituals in the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The Israeli authorities exploit Jewish holidays and occasions to restrict citizens and impose collective punishments against them, by closing checkpoints and tightening military measures on them, impeding the movement of citizens and preventing them from reaching holy places, while facilitating settlers’ incursions into Palestinian cities and Islamic and archaeological shrines in the West Bank. , especially the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron, and the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem.
