New Delhi: It is hinted that the Central Government may introduce the ‘One Nation, One Election’ Bill in the special session of Parliament to be held from September 18 to 22. The ‘One Nation, One Election’ Bill intends to hold Lok Sabha elections and elections to various state legislatures together.

This idea has been raised many times before. Currently, elections to the Lok Sabha and state legislatures are held at the end of the term of the respective houses. It is intended to hold elections to the Lok Sabha and all state legislatures together through ‘One Nation, One Election’.

Apart from this, it is suggested that Bills on Uniform Civil Code and Women’s Reservation may also be introduced in a special session of Parliament.
